Performed

Test:
Assessment of Antibacterial finishes on Textile Materials: Method: A piece of the test material weighing 1g is inoculated with 1ml of buffered sodium chloride solution containing approximately 105 colony forming units of one of the test bacteria. The innoculated test piece is then incubated in a sealed container at 36o for 24 hours. At the end of the incubation period, the test piece is extracted with 9ml of a diluent containing 2% Tween 80 and plated in Tryptone Soya Agar containing Tween 80 and Lecithin as inactivators. The plates are incubated at 36o for 48 hours and any colonies produced are counted. The number of bacteria present at zero time is calculated by performing counts on the inoculum. |
