How to use the Hydra-Flexi Blade on a car A Personal View by Andrew Farleigh -Director (WSS Ltd)

After washing your vehicle in the usual manner, your car is clean and ready to dry-off. Your vehicle MUST BE WET. Ensure that your blade is clean (i.e. NO grit or grime on it!) Starting at the highest point of your vehicle, simply squeegy-off water in a single sweeping action, from edge-to-edge. Usually I use a damp chamois cloth to wipe the blade every few "swipes", to stop odd drips and ensure that there is no grit or dirt on the soft silicone wiper blade. I usually start on the roof, working front-to-back. I then move down to the windows, and then the side panels, boot and bonnet.

TIP: If you are drying a vehicle on a very hot, sunny day, in direct sunlight, do the roof, bonnet and boot first, then the side of the vehicle in direct sunlight, and then the side of the vehicle in shade. Have a moist, clean chamois easily to hand to wipe odd streaks and water splatters. If you are just not fast enough to stop water drying off, just wet down the panel again with a spray-mister or wet sponge (using clean water!) ONLY use the Hydra Flexi Blade when the vehicle is wet.

Work downwards, from roof, to windows, to bonnet/boot, to side panels etc. Better results can be obtained sometimes by shorter downwards wiping strokes on heavily curved vehicle profiles. Turn the Hydra-Flexi Blade to the most convenient angle to suit the contours of your vehicle. Slight downward pressure on the blade's "T-Bar" edge will force the flexible silicone blade to mould to your vehicle's profile. You will not be able to properly squeegy under handles, or in very confined spaces. You will, however, find that if the larger areas of the vehicle are dried using the Hydra Flexi Blade, the smaller inaccessable areas will take very little time at all, using a good absorbent chamois.

Finally, after you've used your Hydra-Flexi Blade over the whole vehicle, just use a chamois to quickly finish off, as there may be water pooled inside edges of wing mirrors and door recesses/window surrounds that you cannot easily squeegy. It will take you a couple of vehicle washes to get used to handling your Hydra Flexi Blade most effectively, but I assure you that once you've mastered the HYDRA-FLEXI Blade, you will wonder how you ever managed without it!

Even in strong direct sunlight, I can easily clean my car without smearing or spotting. All I do is ensure that the vehicle is very wet before I start to squeegy. If neccessary, I hose down the vehicle again just before drying. I use a HYDRA-FLEXI BLADE every week when I clean my car, and I certify that it takes me about 10 minutes or less to dry off my car after washing

TIP: Keep your Hydra Flexi Blade clean. Use your chamois to wipe the blade during and after use and it will serve you faithfully many, many times. If you keep your vehicle bodywork polished with a good proprietry wax, the blade will "glide" smoothly and effortlessly and make your job even easier, with outstanding results!

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) Q: Will I ever need to replace the Silicone Blade? A: No, the blade will last a long time with care. If the blade becomes unservicable, it is cheap enough to replace the whole unit. Q: Will the Hydra-Flexi Blade damage my paintwork? A: No, the blade is made from a medical quality silicone and is specifically designed to be used on high quality paintwork. Careless or inappropriate use of any cleaning aid may cause damage to paintwork. (For example.... If you have grit or dirt on your sponge or chamois, or if you are not careful when using a pressure-washer wand!) Only use the blade on paintwork when your vehicle bodywork is clean and wet. Keep your Hydra-Flexi Blade clean during and after use. Take care not to clobber your paintwork inadvertantly with the easy-grip plastic handle. Common sense usage will ensure your paintwork gleams brilliantly every time! Q: How long will my Hydra-Flexi Blade Last? A: A long time if used with care. We started selling Hydra-Flexi Blades in September 1999, and we have some customers still using their original ones! If you consider how much time will be saved on every vehicle you clean, the cost of a replacement will pale into insignificance! Q: What other uses does a Hydra-Flexi Blade have? A: Use it to wipe down & dry any smooth hard surface. We use one in the shower cubicle at home to wipe down the tiled walls and door after showering! It stops spotting and limescale building up on your shower walls/cubicle! It's also great to clean patio door windows and large panes of glass. Q: How much does a Hydra-Flexi Blade cost?
